About Me
My name is Margaret. I have been working as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2011. I strongly believe that people can make decisions and address issues in their lives, once they have the time, space and support to do so. I see my role as helping people to identify and achieve their personal goals by coping with the issues that are causing them distress, anxiety, and uncertainty.
While I was completing my counselling training, I found myself facing the question of whether I wanted to become a mother or not. I felt like the only person who needed help to make this decision and desperately searched for information about what to do.
However, I soon discovered that I wasn't alone and many other people were facing the same issues. Since then, I have wanted to find out as much as I possibly could about this topic. I have conducted two pieces of research; one as part of my counselling degree which looked at the role of personality factors in the decision to not have children, and one as part of my Masters course which explored how women in Ireland make the decision to have children or not. I have also spoken to, and worked with, many women and men who are unsure if parenthood is the right path for them. This is an evolving area as awareness and information increase, and I am delighted to be part of that.
My aim is to help those who are unsure about parenthood, for whatever reason, to make the right decision for them. I can do this by providing information and an independent, non judgemental space. My only aim is to help you make the right decision for you.
